Hosted Desktops - Thin Clients
Thin Clients - use over 80% less energy than a PC
The thin client is small and easy to install. Just plug in your keyboard, mouse and screen(s) and connect it to your broadband router or network. We typically use the HP t Series Thin Client, but our service also works great with other vendors such as Wyse, Cranberry, ChipPC or IGEL.
Benefits of a Thin Client
- Affordable - They cost as little as $150.
- Simple - They don't require ANY management, as it can all be done remotely
- Reliable - They almost never break, as they have no moving parts
- Sleek - They look great, make no noise, and take up next to no room
- Easy - They come pre-configured and can be up and running in less than 5 minutes
- Power efficient - Thin clients use about 80% less power than a PC. An active PC user can use hundreds of dollars in electricity.
Our solution gives you the freedom and cost efficiency of a virtual desktop and lets you decide which parts of your IT infrastructure you want to manage directly. Powerful workgroup features are also available to get your team working together quickly and efficiently.
Each MC Squared Hosted Desktop is activated within hours of ordering so you can start work almost immediately! Additional power and features can be easily added, meaning you only have to pay for what you need, when you need it.
Do I have to use a thin client?
No, you can use a standard PC, laptop, or even an internet cafe machine to connect to a hosted desktop - all you need is an internet connection. A thin client simply offers a great alternative as it saves a lot of money when compared to traditional PCs.
Who manages the thin client?
MC Squared does that for you, remotely managing the devices from our operations center to ensure that they're secure and running as they should be.
