Hosted Desktops - How Does It Work?
Using a hosted desktop is NO different from using a regular PC. In fact, you can print to your printer at home or the office and install software and customize as you would with your normal machine. The experience is identical to a normal desktop PC, so you can even sync your iPod. The only difference is that the data and operating systems are running on our powerful infrastructure and being presented to you remotely. All you need is an internet connection at your location or, if you're on the road, you can use a 3G broadband card.
Hosted virtual desktops challenge the 'traditional' desktop PC in the office environment and reduce the cost of providing the services that you need. A hosted desktop looks and behaves like a regular desktop PC but the software and data you use is hosted in our in our datacentres. Your virtual desktop is accessible via a secure internet connection from any PC or laptop or, for maximum savings, from a specialized device called a thin clients.
All the functionality you'd expect is available and the environment is personalised, meaning you can install applications, store your data, print on your home or office printer and so on.
The virtue of a hosted desktop is that MC Squared manages, backs up and looks after the environment for you, plus it's running on highly available grid technology, offering you almost infinite power and resources at the touch of a button.
